From a young age, Rinku displayed his cricketing talent, representing Uttar Pradesh in the Under-16, Under-19, and Under-23 categories, as well as Central Zone in Under-19 cricket. At just 16 years old, he made his debut in List A cricket for Uttar Pradesh in March 2014, impressively scoring 83 runs.
Two years later, in November 2016, he entered the first-class arena during the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy. That season, he excelled as Uttar Pradesh’s top run-scorer in the group stage, amassing 803 runs in nine matches, and finishing the tournament with an impressive 953 runs in ten matches.
In 2017, Kings XI Punjab acquired him for the IPL, and in 2018, the Kolkata Knight Riders secured him for 80 lakh rupees. Despite a knee injury in 2021, he made a successful return in the 2022 IPL auction, rejoining the Kolkata Knight Riders.
